The Coach House is a beautiful, single level apartment set in the pretty coastal village of Charmouth. A 10 minute stroll to Charmouth’s famous fossil beach and situated directly on the South West Coast Path. We are 6 miles from the vibrant market town of Bridport and its harbour at West Bay and a five minute drive to Lyme Regis.
The accommodation was completely renovated in June 2019 and updated and redecorated in early 2022. High standards make it perfect for couples searching for a coastal break.
Like the majority of West Dorset our accommodation is pet friendly. You are welcome to bring 1 large or 2 small dogs for no extra charge. We are prepared to be flexible, please contact us before booking.
The accommodation may not be suitable for under 12’s; again we are prepared to be flexible, please contact us direct. (We can make a folding bed available.)
There is a private balcony at the rear of the property. South facing, it’s a perfect spot to sit and enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine.
Lyme Regis is a picturesque coastal town which has always retained it’s charm over the years and is only a 10 minute drive from Charmouth. Walk along the famous Cobb, which protects the harbour, browse the numerous gift shops along Broad Street or simply sit with a coffee on the promenade and watch the world go by.

We recommend:
The whole property has been thoughtfully decorated throughout in Farrow and Ball calming colours and you can even catch a glimpse of the sea from the large juliet balcony door which brings lots of light into the living area.
The bedroom can either be arranged as a double or two singles and always with crisp cotton bed linen and throws.
There is a large living-dining space with comfy sofa and chair and also a small dining area too. The compact kitchen area has everything you need for a break away including electric cooker, fridge freezer and microwave.
The modern shower room, with large cubicle shower, completes the inside of the apartment.
Absolutely spotless inside. Easy to find with onsite parking. Be aware if you have mobility issues the area is very hilly.

The village is well endowed with facilities so there’s no need to drive elsewhere for shopping unless you choose to. There’s even a bus – Axminster to Weymouth – approx every hour.
Jackie is a kind and thoughtful host with encyclopaedic local knowledge. Lots of maps and leaflets too.
Despite being dogless in this dog friendly accommodation, we felt very much at home and this will not be our last visit.
Some have expressed concern about the parking spot and having to reverse into it. Our 4*4 fitted in easily and driving in forwards, then a simple short reverse to line up, left the boot accessible. read less
